Sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne, the theme is “Hijacking Germany’s Democracy: The Nazis’ Rise to Power,” with keynote speaker Dr. Barry Jackisch, an adjunct faculty member in history at the University of Toledo.
The remembrance of the six million who perished includes musical performances by Heartland Sings, including a Covid Nigun written by Maestro Robert Nance, and the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir appearing at the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Violins of Hope performance at the Allen County Courthouse in November 2019.
Rabbi Meir Bargeron and members of the Jewish and larger community also will participate. Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb and Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry share remarks by video.

Dr. Jackisch has written a book, multiple scholarly articles, and has given public talks and research presentations throughout North America and Europe in the areas of modern German history and Holocaust/genocide studies.
