GET NOSHIN’ ON ‘TASCHEN WITH BAKING CLASS
Join Rabbi Sarah Rosenbaum Jones for a one-hour introduction to hamantaschen making on Sunday, February 14 at 11:30 a.m. on Zoom! We will explore the symbolism of the humble hamantaschen and learn techniques for rolling, stuffing, and folding our cookies.
Please RSVP to office@templecav.org or (260) 744-4245. Attendance is limited to 10 bakers for an optimal online learning experience. The link will be sent to attendees.
For those baking along, please send us a few photos of you in the kitchen and with the delicious goodies to share in our Temple communications.
Tips from Rabbi Sarah:
How should I prepare for class?
Prepare your hamantaschen dough and chill it in the refrigerator, following the recipe’s instructions.
Love butter? Me too! I recommend this recipe from Jewish cook Tori Avey’s blog.
Prefer something dairy-free? Use Tori Avey’s dairy-free recipe. I typically use this one when teaching hamantaschen classes in person. It’s delicious and easy to handle!
What should I bring to class?
Rabbi Sarah is a Reform Rabbi Educator in downtown Chicago. She spends most of her time thinking and teaching about Judaism and chasing her toddler around the apartment.
