Help us care for the Jewish section at Lindenwood Cemetery as part of the Temple’s Mitzvah Day on Sunday, May 6, when we clean headstones, place stones of remembrance decorated by our Religious School students, offer prayers, and participate in a special service when we bury unwanted sacred books.
Please join us at 10 a.m. at the Temple for doughnuts and a brief informational meeting before we go as a group to Lindenwood Cemetery. Carpool transportation is available if needed. Cleaning supplies will be provided for the headstones. After our work is done, we’ll return to the Temple to have lunch together.
We encourage you to share in this meaningful mitzvah effort even if you don’t have loved ones buried at Lindenwood. Many of the headstones are quite old.
Please dress appropriately for the weather, including boots if it has rained recently. Gym shoes are recommended. If you would like, bring a blanket/towel/stool to kneel on while cleaning.
Thank you to Ellen Tom, Jamie Berger, Jessica Ash, Talia Bugel and Samara Sheray for organizing this year’s Mitzvah Day. Please RSVP by Sunday, April 15 to Ellen Tom at firstname.lastname@example.org.
